What a good quote spells out
- The scope in plain words, and what is not included.
- Each deliverable or stage as its own line, so the client can drop one without renegotiating the rest.
- How many revision rounds are included, and what extra rounds cost.
- What you need from the client, and by when, for the dates to hold.
- Payment terms: deposit, stages, and how many days each invoice has.
- How long the quote is valid.

Questions
What's the difference between a quote and an invoice?
A quote is an offer before the work: what you'll do and what it will cost, valid for a set time. An invoice is the request for payment after the work, or a stage of it. Quotes don't need a sequential tax number, invoices do.
Quote, estimate or proposal: which should I send?
A quote is a fixed price for a defined scope. An estimate is your best guess and can change, so say that on it. A proposal usually adds the approach and the reasoning. This generator makes the first two; for a proposal, put the approach in the notes or send it alongside.
How long should a quote be valid?
Thirty days is common. Shorter if your prices depend on third-party costs or your calendar is filling up, longer for large projects with a slow approval process.
Is anything I type stored?
No. The quote is built in your browser and the PDF is generated there too. Your browser keeps a local copy of the draft until you press "Start over".
Quote it, then invoice it, without retyping
In OIO a proposal belongs to its client and project. When it's accepted it becomes an invoice draft with the same lines, and the money view shows what is outstanding and what is paid. Free plan, no card.
