Quote template for social media managers
"Manage our socials" can mean scheduling posts the client writes, or it can mean shooting, editing, writing, posting and answering every comment. Those are different jobs at very different prices. A quote should separate content creation from scheduling and from community management, so the client can see what each part costs and drop one if the budget is tight.
Put numbers on everything that scales: platforms, posts per platform per month, videos versus static posts, hours of community management, and response times. A retainer without those numbers turns into unlimited work for a fixed fee within about two months.

What a social media manager's quote should spell out
- Platforms covered and the number of posts, stories and videos per month on each.
- Who creates the content: you, the client, or a mix, and what raw material the client supplies.
- Community management hours per month and response times, including whether weekends are covered.
- Approval process: who signs off posts and how far ahead the content calendar is approved.
- Ad management fee, if any, and a clear statement that ad spend is paid by the client.
- Minimum term and notice period for the retainer.
Questions social media managers ask
How much should a social media manager charge per month?
It depends on platforms, volume and whether you create the content. Work out the hours a month really takes, including approvals and replies, multiply by your hourly rate, and quote that as the retainer. Then list exactly what it covers so extra work has a price.
Should a social media quote include a minimum term?
Yes. The first month is mostly setup: audits, calendars, templates, access. A three-month minimum makes sure that setup is paid for, and it gives the work enough time to show whether it is going anywhere.
How do I price community management?
As a block of hours per month with a stated response time, for example replies within one business day. Bill hours above the block at your hourly rate, and say in the quote whether evenings and weekends cost extra.
