A Dubsado alternative, and real project management
Dubsado is a client workflow engine you configure. OIO covers the lead form, the proposal and the invoice without building workflows first, and adds real project management: each client job gets one page with its tickets on a kanban or a timeline, status, budget and hours, team chat, files and recorded calls.
OIO does not process card payments. Your client pays you by bank transfer, your own payment link or crypto, and you mark the invoice paid. Dubsado takes the payment for you.
What Dubsado is good at
Dubsado is the one people pick when they want to automate their client process exactly the way they already run it. Lead capture forms, contracts with e-signatures, proposals that bundle the contract and invoice in one link, payment plans and autopay, and workflows that fire when a form comes in, a contract is signed or a payment lands. If you like building the system once and letting it run, it rewards the setup time.
Where it stops
- Automated workflows, scheduling, public proposals and the bookkeeping integration are on the Premier plan, per its pricing page. Starter has one lead capture form.
- The power is in the setup. Workflows, forms and templates have to be built before they save you anything.
- It is a client-process tool first. If your week is mostly delivery, with a team working through boards, files and conversation, check that side fits how you work.
What OIO does instead
OIO is project management for client work. Each client job gets one page with its tickets on a kanban or a timeline, status, budget and hours, deadline, files, team chat and recorded calls. Around it sit the inquiry form that brings the lead in, the prospect pipeline, and the proposal and invoice that come from the same project.
Your client logs into the same place with their own account and sees only their side: their project, their documents, their invoices. You can invite someone who is not on OIO yet, and they see the project once they sign up. Contracts and proposals go out for signature as a link, and the client signs on any device without an account.
One price covers the work and the money. Viewers are free and use no seat; only people who edit your work do, and Studio comes with five.
OIO also does not send payment reminders on its own. Overdue invoices get their own list, and OIO drafts the reminder for you to send from your own mail.

Questions
Is OIO a good Dubsado alternative?
If you want the client side and the project work in one place without building workflows first, yes. If you want automated sequences that send forms, contracts and invoices on their own, and clients paying inside the app, Dubsado does that and OIO does not.
Does OIO take payments like Dubsado?
No. OIO issues invoices and proposals, shows what is outstanding and what is paid, and drafts the reminder for an overdue invoice. The client pays you by bank transfer, your own payment link or crypto, and you mark the invoice paid. Dubsado takes payments through Dubsado Payments, Square or PayPal.
